4 Nutrient Synergies That You Have To Be Aware Of

February 21st, 2010 by Katherine Crawford, M.S. | No Comments | Filed in weight loss programs

Would you like to take a single pill that could fix all of your health concerns? If so, you are not alone. In fact, supplement companies are aware of this and as a result, you are constantly bombarded with single-nutrient advertisements. But eating a wider variety of things is better here.

You see, when you eat a wide variety of nutrients, a plethora of interactions begin to take place that a single nutrient cannot mimic. Thus, achieving maximum health involves maximum dietary variety.

So here are some nutrient combinations that will have a big impact on your health:

1. The sun hormone and the bone nutrient: The dairy industry has hit the media channels hard to improve sales. And they do have a point because calcium is critical for proper bone development. Now if you think you aren’t getting enough calcium, Vitamin D can help you process what you are getting more efficiently.

2. Sodium and potassium: You most likely are having too much sodium day in and day out-it’s simply impossible to avoid unless you eat pure food and never go out. Fortunately, potassium can counter the negative effects of sodium by coaxing your kidneys to secrete more of it. And lower sodium translates into lower blood pressure.

3. Oysters and metal: Why do people claim that oysters are so good for you? Because they have zinc which is related to hormone production. Now zinc and copper (think “metal”) compete for the same absorption sites in your body. So make sure you don’t over supplement with either.

4. The calming amino acid and the cholesterol regulator: Do you feel tired after eating turkey? Well, most would claim that they do because of the tryptophan. But tryptophan does something else: it helps your body make more niacin. And niacin can be a life saver because it increases good cholesterol while reducing bad cholesterol.

Now the key here is to look at nutrition in terms of variety, not in terms of taking large doses of single nutrients.

And make sure you take action on this information sooner rather than later. After all, later usually never comes!

I Fought With Weight Loss For Years

February 9th, 2010 by Ray Fitz | No Comments | Filed in weight loss programs

I can tell you about my fight with weight loss, but you came here about your own. I have been laughed at, pushed, jostled, and embarrassed. I have been the butt of the jokes. I have hated shopping in the women’s section for fat peope clothes. You know, stylish tents. I have been humiliated trying to get out of a car, and sneered at in a nice restaurant. You suffer and you cry.

I searched and searched. I tried this diet and that one. I needed the answer, the solution. When nothing else was working, not low fat, low carb, no sugar, all lettuce, or whatever fad I was chasing, I was getting desperate. I needed my easy diet plan. I know I can do the weight loss thing and be successful this time. I just needed the solution to get out of the rut. And I knew I would find it. Because I had hope.

I tried counting calories, and I tried weighting my portions. I tried to keep track of my points. I increased my MUFAs. I took Hoodia pills and gained weight. There are so many diets out there. Grapefruit is good. I like it. I also like a chocolate milkshake and a Frosty, but they don’t go very well with Atkins or Nutrisystems or Jenny or Weight Watchers or Jarrod or South Beach or whoever. But I like them. Can you believe this guy ate two subs a day and lost 300 pounds?

So yes, I have felt the same pain that brought you here. I have been humiliated. I have been the joke. You know how I hated it. I told myself to put an end to it. We have faced the same problems and come to the same conclusion. Change it. After, I don’t know, hundreds of diets, I found about a fast weight loss program that I have been able to work with. This is my solution!! Finally, this is the diet plan for me. Now it’s your turn. You must find yours. The diet plan and weight loss tips are just perfect for me. Really. Does that sound like good to you? I’m on the plan and I’m not crying, not embarrassed. You can have it, too! Do you like the idea of losing that weight? What are you waiting for?

Find what you need. Find the answer you have been looking for, your shot at real weight control. Do it now! You know what you have to lose, think what you can gain. It is time to take action…..

Or do nothing, change nothing, and remain as you are. It’s really very simple. Make a choice and take the action that goes with it. Remember this: If you agree to do something, but don’t do it, it’s the same as though you didn’t agree in the first place. If you want to lose weight, lose it. Or settle for less.

Learn the 4 Keys to Designing a Killer Fat Loss Workout.

January 23rd, 2010 by Vaughn Council | No Comments | Filed in weight loss programs

Losing excess fat and weight are the keys to getting ripped. But what’s the best way to do it? Well, before anything else you need to get your mind in the right place. You have to be ready to commit to making the proper choices, which requires discipline. If you are ready to take that step, follow the rest of this plan to get into some serious shape.

1. Muscle recruitment is your best friend. Muscle recruitment refers to how much muscle you use while exercising. So why is this important? If you want to lose fat and/or weight you need to burn off a lot of calories. The more muscle you use the more calories you burn, so the more fat you lose. Engaging lots of muscle is simple; it’s all about exercises you choose.

Here’s something you’ve probably seen at the gym: A guy with way too much belly spending an hour isolating his biceps and triceps. Bad choice my friend. Since biceps and triceps are small muscle groups, working them individually doesn’t recruit much muscle. Let me show you a better option. Rows (cable, dumbbell, or barbell) trigger the large muscles of the back and the biceps at the same time. Tricep pushups or dips trigger the chest and shoulders as well as the triceps. Some other good picks for arsenal are bench presses, squats, and deadlifts. Of course there are many more exercises out there that also fit the bill.

2 . You Should Use Circuit Training Workouts. I have never seen a better approach to fat loss than circuit training. Here’s how you to do it: work your way through a sequence of 4 – 6 exercises with 5 – 15 seconds of rest (based on your fitness level) between each exercise. This is anaerobic cardio and when combined with correct eating habits, it results in fat loss. For best results your goal should be to complete your circuit as many times as you can in 60 minutes. If you can’t endure for that long, workout for a shorter period of time (at least 20 minutes) and increase your time in small increments with each workout.

3. Use a journal to keep the results coming. Listen up because this is really important! If you don’t keep pushing your body to the next level, your results won’t go to the next level. The human body has an amazing ability to adapt – that means what was once a challenge will no longer be a challenge after a little while. If your workout stops being tough, you will stop losing fat. So keep a journal (during your workout), and track the following (per exercise), weight or intensity, amount of repititions, and total amount of sets. By increasing at least one of these each time you train a muscle group, you will make sure positive results continue.

5 Vary the exercises and methods (stability ball, free weights, calisthenics, plyometrics, etc) you use. You might have also heard this called muscle confusion. It puts a constantly changing demand on your body, which keeps your body from adapting and prevents plateau.

So here’s the short – lose fat and pounds and you’ll get ripped (DUH). To get there, combine these pointers with a quality nutrition plan and you won’t be disappointed with the results. 2- 3 sessions of power cardio (brisk incline walk, swimming, or jump rope) per week , 10 – 30 minutes long should be performed on your days off from strength training. See ya next time…..

Here is an example of a what a good fat loss workout should look like.

Circuit training workouts are an exellent way to lose body fat and extra pounds. Quality fat loss programs should use them as a tool to get great results. Visit Vaughn Council’s site for more information on this and much more.

With HCG Diet Philadelphia You Can Lose Fat Fast

January 4th, 2010 by Annelouise Schapiro | No Comments | Filed in weight loss supplements

You may have been hearing a lot about the HCG diet. It has been getting rave reviews from people who have used it. Yet, at the same time, there is quite a bit of controversy surrounding it. If you are interested in knowing more, you might want to go talk to an expert in the area.

The HCG in the name of the diet refers to Human Chorio Gonadotropin. This is a human hormone, found in both men and women. Pregnant women have the highest levels of HCG. It has been used in infertility treatments as injections of the hormone help with ovulation in women as well as sperm elevation in men.

The basic concept of the HCG diet is two-fold. One part is to restrict your daily calorie intake to just 500 per day. This alone will, of course, lead to weight loss. But weight loss from this alone is unhealthy. The second part of the diet is to have HCG injections on a daily basis. The shot is meant to prevent the normal negative side effects from such a low calorie diet. As long as you are getting the daily dose of HCG, you are not supposed to experience headaches, nausea or hunger pain that are typical with restrictive diets.

The reason this method works is that HCG also has the function in the body of telling the hypothalamus when to release fat stores. Your body can then use this fat to supplement the calories that you are getting from your diet. This supplemental fuel allows your body to continue proper functioning. There are results from some studies that would indicate no difference between getting the HCG shot or not. This is one of the factors leading to controversy.

However, it is difficult to ignore the number of people who have claimed weight losses of 20 pounds and higher. While there still needs to be more testing to say that the diet is definitely safe for long-term, the opposite is true as well. No studies have yet proven that it is not safe. There is no question that research will continue as the diet gains in popularity.

The HCG diets offered today are often not the original one that spawned such controversies. These diets modify the plan to the individual client. For example, not everyone is put on exactly 500 calories. The result is a more balanced and sensible way to approach this diet that should help negate concern over potential side effects.

When beginning any new diet, it is not a bad idea to discuss it first with your doctor. You should also visit a HCG diet office to learn more about their approach to this weight loss system. Once you have the facts, you can decide if this is a good diet for you to try.

Do you know about hcg new work? When you want to learn the facts about how to lose weight with hcg, listen to someone who knows all about hcg diet new work.

Good Ideas To Help With Fat Loss

November 27th, 2009 by Josh Wintrop | No Comments | Filed in weight loss programs

Many of us want to loose weight especially with the holidays coming up. Here is a common sense approach to weight loss.

I have heard so many times that you have to cut out junk food and fast food if you want to lose weight. This is really a big no-no. When you cut out your favorite foods it makes you want them more than ever. You can’t deprive yourself and expect to get very far. The key is moderation. If you cut back a little it can have a huge impact. This means you can still order that cheese burger but leave off the fries.

I have heard that three meals a day is best. I prefer to eat several small meals. This gives you more energy and helps to boost your metabolism. It also keeps you from being tempted to snack on junk between meals. Another plus top this is that you don’t have that stuffed feeling after each time you eat. These meals can be just quick bites here and there if you are pressed for time.

Exercise is probably the best way to help accomplish weight loss. Not only does it get your heart pumping and boost metabolism but it tons muscles and gives you more energy. You really don’t need special equipment or a gym membership and you don’t have to spend hours a day either. If you want equipment then the one piece I would recommend is a stair climber. This really helps with those legs and thighs and gets your heart pumping.

Just doing a few sit-ups when you first wake up and right before bed will do more than you might think. Leg lifts are a nice add on to the sit-ups. Lying on your back and raising both legs at once really helps tighten lower abs. You can even do these on your bed. Exercising on the floor kills my back.

You might enlist the help of a friend to help keep you on track. Having someone to share your goals with can be a big pick me up when you are feeling like its impossible to keep up the good work. Even just a pair of jeans you want to fit into might help. This will be a reminder of your goals and what you are working for. Having a goal is very important but it has to be a realistic goal. You can’t expect to see results over night.

By following these tips I lost 4 jean sizes. I know you can do it to; there’s no better time to start than today!

Keeping your weight loss permanent requires motivation and a life style change so get started with Fat Loss 4 Idiots to keep that weight off for good.
