Weight Loss Programs Reviewed

February 25th, 2010 by Ray Fitz | No Comments | Filed in weight loss programs

Are you ready to go on a diet? Or maybe a little past that time? If this isn’t your first diet, you’re going to need an ACTION PLAN. The key words are Action and Plan. I once read:

Action without planning is futile Planning without action is worthless.

If this is not your first rodeo, cowboy, you know this true when it comes to weight loss. Every professional diet service will give you a plan. Each will give you some kind of action. Some will provide a diet buddy system. Most will require charts and/or logins. Many will have meetings. It goes Action and Plan, Plan and Action.

No matter which plan you choose, Follow the plan. Lose the weight. Become beautiful. Wear thin people clothes. Go on television as the person that lost all that weight. Be loved by millions. Get a sports car. Be admired. Be interviewed. Write a book. Let the exciting person inside of you out. Or, do nothing, change nothing, and remain as you are.

We’ve just finished reading online reviews of about thirty weight loss plans, everything from NutriSystems and Weight Watchers to Fatloss4idiots to Jarrod’s Subway diet. They discussed health, calories, protein, diet pills, weight gain, carbs, grapefruit, and just about everything else that’s involved in being healthy. They reviewed how to lose weight with exercise, diet foods, and all forms of diet plans. You can get hypnosis. You can get diet pills. All of them have one objective- to help you if you really want to lose weight. We were looking for the right plan for me. Some of the weight loss programs I considered are very good, some, not so much. One review really caught my eye. It was a testimonial on a major website from a woman that simply blew me away. She was asked about her current low calorie diet. Maybe she didn’t mean it as a testimonial, but here it is. You decide. “Whenever I find that weight isn’t falling off of me based on reduced calories (Plan A), I just go back to Plan B. I dropped just about 4 lbs by day 4. I’m always amazed at how this diet works for me.” – K. Jones (via email) I can see where someone might could call that a testimonial. Would you? Testimonials are there to convince you that you can do it. You already know you can lose the weight, keeping it off is the problem. The testimonials are just there to reinforce your own opinion. Heck, you could even become a spokesperson for the plan of your choice. You could be doing the testimonial! Look at all of them you see on TV. Any one of them COULD BE YOU! They want you to succeed and show others. You are worthy, so do it!

Remember this: If you agree to do something and don’t do it, it is no different than if you had not agreed to it in the first place. It doesn’t matter what it is, it’s no different than not agreeing in the first place.

We have done a lot of homework on this subject because it matters. We have written many reviews of many products, including several times about this lady’s particular plan. The question becomes, “Why is it just a backup plan?” Well, there are a couple of reasons, but mostly, she isn’t where she wants to be and she isn’t sticking to her plan to get there. She agreed to Plan A, but isn’t doing it. She isn’t sticking to her own plan to lose weight so she thinks that by adding a second plan to the works that everything will be okay. She may as well not have gone on Plan A in the first place. Besides, mixing two different diet plans is not going to get her where she feels she has to be. It will probably cost her her health in the long run.

Sorry! If you don’t make a decision on what you want, set some goals, create a plan, and work at it, you won’t lose much weight. Expect exercise. I know, the exercise is hard, but it’s better for the exercise to be hard than your arteries. Besides, light exercise actually makes the diet work.

The rest? It’s pretty simple, really. Like I said at the outset: Set up a plan. Follow the plan. Lose the weight. Become beautiful. Wear thin people clothes. Go on television as the person that lost all that weight. Be loved by millions. Get a sports car. Be admired. Be interviewed. Write a book. Let the exciting person inside of you out.

That’s my opinion. It’s really very simple. Make a choice and take the action that goes with it. It is working for me, and it will work for you.

Do it now! It’s time for you to lose weight.Weight loss and get the program. Remember, it’s all about you! Do this because YOU deserve it. Get a totally unique version of this article from our article submission service

The Grapefruit Diet Just A Hollywood Fad Diet

November 28th, 2009 by Ron Cripps | No Comments | Filed in weight loss programs

One of the popular fad diets in Hollywood was the grapefruit diet. Stars and starlets used it as far back as the’30s. Then in the 70′s it became a piece of fax junk, sent from machine to machine, and became known as the xerox lore. The Mayo Clinic, which is often credited as the diet’s creator, claims to have nothing to do with this unhealthy diet.

The grapefruit diet is essentially like the Atkins diet with the addition of a grapefruit before each meal. The diet only allows three meals each day, with no snacking in between meals. Supposedly a person on this diet could lose 10 pounds in only 10 days.

The distribution was just as far fetched no weight loss for four days then five pounds lost all on the fifth day. It was based on the claim that grapefruit contains some form of fat burning enzymes, something that has never been proven medically.

In 2004 it was proven that the diet may work. 1/2 grapefruit with each meal helped people lose 3.6 pounds in only 12 weeks. Drinking the juice from the grapefruit led to only slightly less weight loss. Some people in the study lost as much as 10 pounds in the 12 week period.

Researchers credited the weight loss to decreased insulin levels caused by eating the grapefruit. But the study didn’t limit people to just diet, they also exercised more which may have resulted in the weight loss.

Here’s a typical grapefruit diet:

- Eight 8 ounce glasses of water each day, this is a must. – Stop eating when full. – Eat all the food listed at each meal, skipping food interferes with fat burning. – Grapefruit is the key so eat that as specified. – Drink only up to 1 cup of coffee at meals. – No snacking. – Butter is OK. – Do not eat desserts, breads, white vegetables, or sweet potatoes. – Meat and vegetables are fine. – Eating more will actually result in more weight loss. – Follow the diet for 12 days, skip two days, then start again. – Eat one half grapefruit, or drink’ ounce glass of grapefruit, with each meal.

Now you can go try the grapefruit diet.

Best Weight Loss Diet For Women

August 11th, 2009 by admin | No Comments | Filed in weight loss diets

Women love to diet. At any give time, one of three women are on a diet. Yet more women are overweight than ever and a disturbing new study shows that binge eating is the most widespread eating disorder in the United States, surpassing bulimia and anorexia. Surely, there has to be a connection between food deprivation diets and the rate of increase in binge eating.

I can definitely speak for myself. I first began binge eating after following a fad diet that controlled what food groups I could consume. During the two months that I was on the diet, I dreamed about all the foods I could not eat. These “forbidden foods” became an obsession. Needless to say when I went off the diet, I started over-indulging in all the foods I was deprived of during the diet. I told myself that I needed a reward for losing all the weight. In a few short months, the pounds I lost came back and I was stuck with an unhealthy new eating habit to boot.

Maybe there is something wrong in the way we are trying to lose weight? Since most eating disorders affect far more women than men, there is really a cause for concern. Women need to re-examine the way they attempt to lose weight and the ultimate cost on their health and bodies.

Although it sounds unfashionable compared to the latest fad diets out there, the best weight loss diet for women that ensures permanent results is one on which healthy portions from various food groups is allowed. A plan like this will ensure healthy weight loss without causing undue stress on the body. Women also need to keep in mind that fad diets are ageing. This is because fad diets put your body under stress and also deprive you of nutrients you need to keep your skin, nails and hair healthy.

By following a healthy eating plan, you will not only gain an enviable figure, but will also look younger, have less wrinkles, strong nails and healthy hair. Along with healthy eating habits, the right exercise program for women will allow you will feel more relaxed and more confident in yourself. You will also sleep better allowing your body to repair and restore your body and skin. It is not called beauty sleep for nothing.

The next time you come across a new weight loss diet that promises 10 lbs in 10 days ask yourself if it is worth risking your health and complexion to try something that sounds unhealthy anyway. You did not gain all your weight in a week. Why would you expect to lose it all in a week? Also remember that going on a fad diet could cause you to learn unhealthy eating habits and leave you feeling stressed and obsessed.

Stop obsessing over weight loss. Learn about healthy eating and start living better today. Weight loss will happen automatically along with the side effects of better self esteem, peace of mind and healthy skin, hair and nails.

Cabbage Soup Diet- The Seven Days is not that Hard if You Know the Tricks

July 22nd, 2009 by Stefan Vincent | No Comments | Filed in weight loss programs
by Stefan Vincent

Cabbage Soup Diet is one of the fad diets which is designed for fast weight loss and requires no long term commitment. It is designed as seven days program where dieter will have a strict meal plans with cabbage soup as the main ingredients. The program itself is not new; it was first gained popularity at 1980s due to the claim of 10 pounds weight loss per week.

This is the cabbage soup meal plan that would be followed for 7 days:

Day 1: Fruit; consist of cabbage soup, fruits (except banana), protein shake, fat burner drink, and water with lemon or herbal. Day 2: Vegetable; consist of cabbage soup, vegetables, protein shake, fat burner drink, baked potato, and water with lemon or vegetable juices. Day 3: Fruit and Vegetables; consist of cabbage soup, fruit, vegetables, protein shake, fat burner drink, and water with lemon or vegetable juices. Day 4: Bananas; consist of cabbage soup, banana, low fat dairy, protein shake, and water with lemon or herbal. Day 5: Fish and Tomatoes; consist of cabbage soup, fish or poultry with tomatoes, protein shake, fat burner drink, and water with lemon or herbal. Day 6: Poultry Day; consist of cabbage soup, poultry or fish, vegetables, protein shake, fat burner drink, water with lemon or vegetable juices. Day 7: Rice Day; consist of cabbage soup, vegetables, protein shake, fat burner drink, mushroom risotto, and water with lemon or vegetable juices.

Notes that there is no limit for the consumption of cabbage soup at any day, the dieter can eat as much as he wants. On day three, five, six, and seven, there are no limits for fruit, vegetables, fish, and poultry consumption. The recipes of the soup itself usually consist of cabbage, carrots, peppers, onions, and tomatoes with preferred seasonings. The program also forbid alcohol, bread, and carbonated beverages.

The cabbage soup diet is a little misleading in that there is no scientific evidence to suggest that cabbage burns any more fat than any other type of vegetable. The reality is that people lose weight because of the excessively low calorie intake which is between 800-1,000. The diet would probably produce the same results with many other varieties of vegetable soup.

Pros

1. Rapid weight loss; an average person will lose up to 15 pounds over the 7 day course of this diet.

2. Inexpensive; the required ingredients for this diet plan are very inexpensive to buy.

3. Easy: all you have to do is follow a simple diet plan. No other life style changes are needed and it only lasts 7 days.

4. You will eat more fruits and vegetables.

Cons

1. The extremely low daily calorie of this diet is not a healthy way to lose weight. There is a very small percentage of protein in the diet plan which can actually hurt you due to the lack of proper nutrition. Most people should get at least 1200 calories a day, unless specifically told otherwise by their doctor.

2. Continuously eat cabbage soup throughout the entire week can be really boring, which can encourage the dieter to eat less than the already low calories per day.

3. The cabbage soup recipes usually contain high levels of sodium or MSG (Monosodium Glutamate).

4. There is theory that the weight loss mainly comes from fluid or muscle mass, not fat loss, which will return once the dieter back to the normal eating behaviors.

5. The common cabbage soup recipes usually result in bland soup and some dieters have report to feeling nauseous whenever they smell the soup after finish the 1 week program.

6. Possibly cause frequently fart.

7. Hard to eat out since the meals in the program are not commonly served at a restaurant.

No matter how much we want one there is no such thing as a quick fix diet. The cabbage soup diet might help you lose some weight quickly but this is hardly a permanent, healthy weight loss solution. If you just can’t resist the idea of losing 10 pounds in a week though, at least keep these pointers in mind:

1. No kids or teenagers! This diet is for adults only.

2. Only go on this diet a week at a time, do not try to prolong it.

3. Consult your doctor if you have any health issues.

4. Motivate yourself by remembering it’s only 7 days and at the end of that time you could be down 10 pounds or more.

5. Drink at least 5 glass of water per day.

6. Try different variety of spices and seasoning to minimize boredom from eating cabbage soup continuously.

7. No matter how bored you get with the soup, don’t skip meals. You aren’t taking in very many calories as it is, you can’t afford to lower your caloric intake any more.

8. Try to keep stay at home, you will probably too weak from the low calorie foods and to gassy from mass quantities of cabbage. If you are away from home, carry your cabbage soup with you.

9. Take some vitamin and mineral supplements to help you get all the nutrients you need.

10. Keep track of your progress by using a daily journal.

11. Make sure to keep careful track of what foods you are supposed to eat each day.

12. Stock up. Make sure you have everything on hand for your diet before you start.

13. Drink your protein shakes. This is very important to provide your body with the protein it needs to stay strong.

The bottom line is keeping yourself healthy and stay focused during the entire process, you will gain significant weight loss at the end of the program.
